You lie there late at night,
Wrapped in your cocoon.
While my mind searches
For some other moon.
Drifting out of sight
Sailing pass my pain.
Reliving lives thunder
Under a cloud of pain.

You lie there late at night
Wrapped in your cocoon.
As my life sets out to sea.
An abnormal calm takes over me.
The day encroaching, no longer bright.
Praying for release, will it ever be right?

You lie there late at night
Wrapped in your cocoon.
While I'm sinking in your quicksand.
Fear slipping into fright
Holding on with all my might.

You lie there late at night,
Wrapped in your cocoon.
As I silently slip away.
While my mind searches
For some other moon.

Oblivious Love

Not a fan of repetition, unless used well, and in this case I am a fan of it. This piece has lots of longing, making it a bit sad, I think. Which is the category for many good poems. Well done.
Take care.

This is an awesome poem. I have missed reading your poetry and am sorry I was not as good a friend as you were to me.
