My last resort- the rope

The hoop- just big enough for my head,
Yet tight enough to make me dead

I grab the end that is just rope,
There’s too much to bare- I just can’t cope

I tie the straight end to a branch,
The rope is my last chance

I tie it really tight,
I want to end this fight

It cannot be loose at all,
I’m not allowed to fall

I stand on the stump,
I’m getting ready to jump

I loop the rope around my neck,
I think of my life and… what the heck?

I step off of the wood,
I did what I could

I am all out of hope
My last resort- the rope

oh shelly... this is a brilliant poem... i absolutely love it and can TOTALLY relate... especially due to recent events that include my dad....

but i cant lose you... die alone together right? ok well im not ready... i thought i was but im really not and neither are you!

The rhyme scheme was pretty good, and the flow was relatively smooth...but the ending...is the icing on the cake! Nicely done!!

Nice poem...strong message. But always remeber this...death is not always the answer...as long as you look deeper.
