Decaffinated

Contributed by Nazmythian on Sunday, 24th July 2005 @ 01:05:36 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Coffee colored dreams invade
My hours of conscious thought
Caffeine flavored memories
Of sleepless battles fought

Percolating visions
Slowly dripping into place
Filtered through the darkness
Steaming image of your face

Emptied of awareness
Cupping both hands to my head
Begging for a refill of
The words you once had said

Special roasted yesterdays
That from my mind now pour
Over filled emotions
Soon are spilling to the floor

Marvelous Metahoric images Naz, but I find them very sad. Spilling to the floor. I hope this is just another of your dreaming dreams, and not seriously considered in your life today. Loved the "roasted yesterdays" word master that you are.
Enjoyed the read, but guess I'm overly tired, it's very sad indeed!
Warm love
consue

Broken heart keeping you up latte? If coffee be the drink of love, then pour another, barista!.

Okay, I'll stop there, but I enjoyed it - always a good write from you.

Spike

Scott, what an inspiring metaphoric write. I like the latte-flavored images that you created. Kudos on a nicely written poem.

Great job with this Nazzy...coffee and love...what more could a person ask for? Metaphorically, I think you speak quite well! This was a creative and well written piece...Good job, I enjoyed this.

*grins*

Nice double meanings here! Mocha makes a mighty metaphor for life, it does!

Maybe if we paid as much attention when we were pouring out the mocha into the cup, as we did while preparing it, possibly it would not be wasted by the hindsight overflow?
Great write, Scott.

*can't help giggling at what Mary said*

This is clever, Scott. I doubt anyone else would have been able to come up with something like this.

I do find it sad though. *hugs*

There is alot behind the words in this.

*wonders if the coffee is good for you*

*hugs* Phil xxx

Naz,

A very clever use of the coffee metaphor. It is interesting that the poem is intitled "Decaffinated", but you refer to "caffeine flavored memories..." So is the decaff a more subtle or subliminal message. Maybe I'm reading too much in, but then I know how clever you can be with hidden meanings.

A very clever, albeit , sad write my friend

Will/Terry
