or where they left their trace
and I can see the saddness
that there is upon your face

And I can see the pain
that there is inside
the one you try so hard
and still you can not hide

And I can see tomorrow
through the cold dark night
And I can feel the sorrow
of our fading moral light

and I can hear the screams
of the dying and the dead
brought to their own ends
by the kinds of lives they've led

And I can hear the whispers
the ones behind my back
as another one has fallen
and slipped right through the crack
