of love his heart so desired.

he gave her the sky for eyes,
the finest silk for hair,
and the smoothest stone flesh.

He stole the ravens wings,
and the purity of an innocent.

All of this so he could fabricate his angel.

But her stone flesh was gold,
and the stolen innocene in her
eyes of sky burned.

Her wings could not fly, and she could not
understand why she had been
given this burden of life without birth or death.

Her hands rested on
the cold heart of her creater,
who could not explain why he had
given her life, and how he
immortality was a gift.

She stands now, a stone angel
who cannot fly,
cannot die,
and will never know
what this feeling is. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 182 [topic] => 13 [informant] => WingsOfGlass [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Tainted love...
And what sadness this pieces radiates.

"he gave her the sky for eyes"
A lucid expression with metaphoric connotations...Truly beautiful --picturesque.
I like the notion that this angel is a product of man and not spiritually divine. It allows for a deeper understanding, and emotive connection between it and human emotions.

..."sky-burned"...
Overall this piece has been a luminous read and a beautiful analogy.
Well done :)
