DON'T STOP PLAYING

When the house lights dimmed, the concert
was about to begin.
The mother returned to an empty seat,
gone her son therein?
Suddenly the curtains parted, and the spotlight
was focused,
Center stage sat an impressive Steinway
piano choicest.

In horror the mother saw her little boy seated
at the keyboard!
Completely uninhibited picking out
"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,"
the audience he ignored.
Enter the great piano master heading straight
for the piano....He whispered in the boy's ear,
"Don't quit, Keep playing, I'll follow."

Leaning over, Paderewki reached left
and played the bass part
His right arm reached around the child,
and he added a running
obbligato by heart.
The creative concerto was uniquely played
by the old master and the young novice.
A frightening experience was transformed
into a tranquil calmness.

Mesmerizing the audience they couldn't recall what else
the great master played.
Only the classic, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
they were completely waylaid.
Have you ever thought, perhaps that's the way
it is with God?
What we can accomplish on our own is not anything
we can applaud.

We can try our best, but the results aren't always
graceful flowing music
However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work
can truly be magic!
The next time you set out to accomplish a great feat,
Listen carefully, you may hear the voice of the Master
in case of a defeat......

"Don't quit!" "Keep playing." He will whisper in your ear.
May you feel His arms around you and know
that he is near.
His hands join yours, helping your feeble attempts
into true masterpieces.
Remember too, God doesn't seem to call the
'equipped,' rather He equips the "called"
of all ages.

Our lives are more accurately measured by those
we touch
Than by the material possessions we acquire
even if much!
So touch someone by passing this little
message along.
May God Bless You and be with you, helping
you always play your heart's song!

This beautiful story
was sent to me by my
beautiful friend. Betty.

The poem is mine.
