HOME
By Marty RicKard
Like a hatchling
in the down
of its mother's
throbbing breast
my heart
also
has a nest
where it
cuddles
in the tender
arms
of familiar things
And
though
great journeys
pleasure my eye
California valleys
Boston alleys
educate
and mystify
And
though
great marvels
I travel by
pyramids
that kiss
the sky
or glorious
abyss
It is only
when I return
to where
it all began
that I
rekindle
the wonder
of
familiar things
and
bliss

I love this poem. It it rather like a travel log yet ends in familiar surroundings making one feel snug and comfy. My favorite part of a vacation is coming home where I can touch my life again. Great write.
