His hopes were a lucid dream of desire and devotion. He would close his eyes and transform the black painted canvass to an array of warm color and security. This fools paradise, this fool. No man can ever see the light with shut eyes, only perhaps feel the warmth. What now when the warmth has expired? Open your eyes now dreamer to the change of the season. Winter has come and taken the flowers. Beauty has no place in its icy grip. With the loss of composure, so left his self, left to the cold and bitterness the season brings. Magnificent Romantic, behind a smile he shields his suffering, self-forgetting, so self inflicting. Woe to the one who delights in decency for his heart bleeds a shade unknown to those left in winters solace.

This reads more like prose but you need to direct it, close the ramblings to a more paint a more precise picture.
I like the thoughts presented but wrap the package a little tighter :).
