Array ( [sid] => 10147 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Fallen Star [time] => 2003-01-10 17:40:00 [hometext] => We have as little right to imbue a person with wondrous qualities that are merely indications of our own needs and wishes as we have to pretend that a piece of matter burning up in the atmosphere is anything more than just that.
Neither can be held responsible for the misinterpretations and self-delusions of others. [bodytext] => You spiralled in, trailing celestial light,
Illumined the dungeon-darkness of my life.
Crushed hopes and crippled dreams,
Long fettered in dark corners of my soul,
Stole into your healing warmth and were whole.

And Oh! That sweet, green spring where matchless days
Dawned with a blush of shame, not matching you.
And I was young again.
New hope, new trust, new faith, new selflessness--
Forgot that foul-heart shadows skulk in light.

Soon loving words in silence died unborn.
Cruel murder words hung smirking in the air
Gorging on enmity.
Your stone-hard anger's hurtful, fitful blows
Shattered that trance of spring - and all is gone.

Did I but dream that two can be as one?
Is self-delusion my one constant friend?
And I am old again.
Old fears, old hurts, despair and selfishness,
Beat wailing hopes and dreams back to the dark.

Thanks Juliette,
But why be sorry? Perhaps pain and raw emotion are even greater teachers than feelings of well-being and joy.
Perhaps such experiences make us stronger as individuals and more sensitive to the feelings of others?
Perhaps most pain comes from our self-delusions?

Thanks,
It is the greatest possible compliment when someone can read one's efforts and recognise and share an emotional experience.
