Lovers Strangers

Contributed by vox on Saturday, 16th July 2005 @ 11:52:16 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

So there we stood, face to face.
An accident, or a game of fate?
We hadn’t met for quite so long.
But still, everything felt wrong.

You came to me and shook my hand.
And I tried so hard to understand,
How could you not show the least upset.
Acting like we’d never met.

Then again, I too had played my part.
I smiled, I hid my broken heart.
Searching our heads for lies to say,
To show that everythings o.k.

And so we rushed to wave goodbye,
We couldn’t play for long , this crime.
We were eager to escape,
To continue on our way.

Why do we act like strangers when we meet again?
Is it cause we fear the danger of hurting within?
Cause we would have to remember the love we once shared?
And since we cant have them back, memories don’t seem quite fair.
