I hit the escape button
Pick at a little scar on my face
Rubbing the open wound
I ponder
Why doesn’t everything have an escape button?
Bad relationship?
Ryan left you waiting again?
No call, but you know it’s a new girl.
“Abort, abort!”
Escape button erases all memories,
Closed and deleted from the hard drive.
The wound continues to bleed…
Or, terrible family?
Aunt Brenda has one too many
And dumps her wine all over the wall
And your new white dress,
“Abort, abort”
Escape button erases it
My thanksgiving started with a quick hello and good bye
The blood moving faster then the tears…
All the nights you spent crying?
Tears rolled down your black and blue face
They were fighting again
“Abort, abort!”
But you can’t…
Its one of those annoying thoughts that you cant escape
If only we could get rid of it.
So I found my own escape button.

Oh I very well written.
I loved the whole concept of having an "escape button" when in need of deliverance or escape. Or if we need to erase all traumatic memories.
If only there was such a button....only in a perfect world.
Well done though, I enjoyed reading this very much. |
