and a heart that refuses to beat in tune
how dare I question the fabric
that you’ve wrapped around my lies
to cushion your skin from the burn

it gets under his skin
I will not slip a ring on that finger
I will not say “forever”
I will not wear white and endure the sniggers
I will not lie and have everyone know

one night a whore doesn’t make-
one moment of weakness an alcoholic doesn’t shake-
I miss you, I love you, I don’t love without you

it really does bother them more than I’ve noticed
that I’m free but not willing
no, I don’t want to play pool sometime
no, I won’t take his number

take a sip from an ice filled glass
hope the sun and warmth has
turned all that frozen glimmering
into something manageable
that will flow around you

I was ice in your glass for a full year and
if you’re out there, I just wanted you to know-
I never gave up
I never forgot and I never went home

Well written. I understand the pain you feel. Losing the one you love is hard to live with. This life does go on, even though it feels empty. Stay strong.

There is emptiness within
My eyes cries only blue
This heart is slowly dying
From the pain of losing you.

As I sit here and write
The tears with words do flow
I try to ease this pain
The aching will not go.

I try to reason it out
Answers do not come
My heart knows the truth
You are my only one

My heart was full
My life complete
Your heartbeat leaving
Killed life it seems.

No will now to live
Without you I am so alone
Life is over now
All reasoning dead and gone

The last stanza . . . the last two stanzas . . . my god. I'm shaking, and maybe it's because I - feel like an echo, here, to some degree, and you put it into words in an amazing way. The last two stanzas. Wow. This is so much.

Freaking beautiful.
