stars hide from the terror of reality,
the pain rising from embittered souls.

Clouds cry in vain to wash away the pain.
Tears falling below leave space devoid of hope.
Winds assault the naked branches claiming no fault.

Draining black river veins numb with cold
race to the edge they long to drop from,
evaporate to space and empty black holes, anonymous.
Nature of Loneliness to self consume,
to grow into nothing, eat to starvation.
Definition of life: to die.

Clouds cry in vain to wash away the pain.
Tears falling below leave space devoid of hope.
Winds assault the naked branches claiming no fault.

Elements of nature wreck havoc upon neglected soil;
boils rise, soars consume the mind
while insanity itches through to the bone.
Despairing the future of charred skies,
as loneliness sets in the fire burns beneath the skin.
Consumption rate grows into the soul.

Clouds cry in vain to wash away the pain.
Tears falling below leave space devoid of hope.
Winds assault the naked branches claiming no fault.

Stars boil the ocean to light the sky from below,
haunting images of eternity expanding.
Humanity skillfully dancing with destruction.

Like I already told you this is awesome, but I
think it gets better every time I read it... I don't
know how that is possible but strangely it is.
I loved the "chorus" stanza and how it was
repeated. I also didn't raelly notice this line
when you sent it to me, but I feel it is
necessary to mention it in this "comment".

"Definition of life: to die."

I liked this line because people always try to
explain life and here I was expecting this
long, overly poeticized (yes that is a word lol)
explanation and all there is is "to die" how
awesome. It just ends so abruptly and I like
that and this is a really long run on sentence.
I like the usage of the word "devoid" as well
its not used often enough. Yeah killer write
Kara.

Oh My Dear Kara,
What a magnificient Masterpiece you have just penned indeed!
The repeating lines only emphasis where mankind is today, and I wouldn't call this Dark Poetry as much as REAL LIFE POETRY
Yes, it is Dark, but so is life. Man has lost his way.......and you are so right. Devoid of consciensence of his fellow man, he is now dying slowly, and being helped by those around him. What a sad situation the world is in today!
You are a wonderful thinker, and image maker with words. I call Word Master!!!
Enjoyed this tremendously
Warm love
consue

Kara

You always leave me breathless. To be honest, I had to read this five times to even begin to try to absorb its message.

And I can't help but agree with you. Mankind is a cancer. You've definitely gotten your point across.

Dark and touchingly real. Magnificent write as always.

My poetic hat is off to you!

Always,

Blu
