Array ( [sid] => 101034 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Seems Only Yesterday [time] => 2005-07-13 00:34:01 [hometext] => I wrote this today for my son's third birthday. [bodytext] => Today is my little boys birthday
My gosh he's already three
My little miracle baby, he is
Bringing new life to me

Seems only yesterday
your Daddy and I
wrapped your tiny body like a papoose
Worried so much that a tiny limb
might get cold if it wiggled lose

We watched in awe as you
suckled my breast
proud of nourishing you with my life
You looked up adoringly,
melding us with those big blue
innocent eyes

Seems only yesterday
your Daddy and I
were trying for that first little smile
making silly faces at you
loving you so, all the while

Seems only yesterday,
I was crying so...
You little buddy; were too
Your Daddy bounced your colicky little self
for hours on his knee..
your Dad had more patience than me

Seems only yesterday
I was holding you on my shoulder
your little legs drawn up snug
Now I hold you and your little legs hang so long
Your little feet so grown now
when they used to be so tiny;
toes were like little peas in a pod

Yes you're not a baby anymore
of this I must expect
little man all into Star Wars,
wanting to race cars,
riding your trike like it's a souped up motorbike
talking so big
it seemed to happen
in the blink of an eye

You amaze your Father and I
You look just like
your Daddy sometimes
other times I see myself
our little baby boy turned three today
man, he's really growing up.

Happy Birthday, Jude Aragorn
Have a Grateful day.
My little hippie man
Peace to you my young one
From your loving hippie Mom. :)

Very sweet poem. Great job. I understand where you're coming from. My son is almost 1 1/2 and it seems like just yesterday he was a month old. It does go by so fast. They are our precious little angels. Happy Birthday to your son.
