walking dead past me in italian suits
selling their souls to the masses
for that sparkle in the driveway

women with war paint fighting through the isles
for that half price deal
this society of bargains and deals
what's the reason of bling

shiny ipods and two hundred dollar shoes
and we wonder why there is so much crime
we all want to fit in rich and poor alike
we all want our cake and eat it too

line up at the shelter drug dealers on cells
waiting for their free meal while they poison the crowd
bow your head here is another prayer
dear lord make me rich
and famous
and shallow and phony

i followed the preacher that day
the one who asked for money
from a room full of sorrow
to fill his lexus
and to retile his pool

rich and religion a marriage in hell
does this sound like a future you need
fast cars and expensive foods
another soul gone lost [comments] => 2 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 73 [informant] => lostrelic [notes] => (Edited for spelling by Mod_11) [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 2 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

It's a shame really. Good poem, just sucks that it's actually true. See ya around.
