Array ( [sid] => 100977 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Diagnosis [time] => 2005-07-12 14:56:37 [hometext] => I found out a few days ago that my Grandmother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer..... [bodytext] => She was always there throughout my childhood
If I asked her to do anything for me she would.
She had a loving heart and a beautiful soul
She also had a nasty habit that would take it's toll.

She doesn't deserve this in any way
I wish I could travel back in time to that day,
I would make her change her mind and take that first ciggarette away.

She is a wonderful woman always caring for everyone else
Doing things for other people, putting them before herself.
She has suffered many losses, but has stayed strong through the years
She has been a great role model, while shedding many tears.

I wish I could show her how much she is loved
I hope she knows my mother is thanking her from up above.
I also hope she knows she is appreciated and thought of.

The worst has happened and it is making her ill
It is taking over her body and affecting her will.
She is trying to be strong, but it is breaking her heart inside
The thought she might leave us has made scared feelings reside.

I know she will be fine and overcome this horrible notion
For the thought of losing her, there is no explainable emotion.

I am hopeful at the thought that she is brave and very strong willed
With love and admiration for her, my heart is filled.

I love you Nana!
We will get through this!

This is a beautiful and moving write...not just because of the overwhelming love and emotion present, or the rhyming and flow...but because it's a deeply touching tribute, and I love it.

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma! I hope she pulls through! That was a beutiful poem! I recently lost my grandpa who I was really really close to. He had pancriotic cancer. I was so devistated when he went! But eventually I pulled through and made it! You and your grandma will be in my prayers! Thanx for the comment on my poems!
your friend,
Rhyrhy

Dear Danielle, How very heart breaking this must be for you and she!!!!
My heart and prayers go out to each of you!
Those dirty old weeds have caused so many deaths, and yet they just go right on selling them! There should be a law enforced! But I know they would go right on smoking them anyway!
You must convince your Nanna, that this is not the end. That a positive attitude can help cure her cancer. She must stand up the plate and hits hard!
Warm love
consue

Cancer is hard thing to face alone. Your Grandma is blessed to have you there as a support. This write is heartfelt and a wonderful tribute to a woman you admire. My love and prayers to you and your Nana.
