I inhale and loosen my leather belt

Squander an accruing wealth
Then ponder life and death itself

Pretentious in the way I walk
The way my arms swing, how else, back and forth

When I beg the phone to ring
Standing there again, all by myself

Confidence in my rough voice
Tolerance in the tone of my tough choice

Can a bone be picked
An interest loan be fixed

A birth day switched
On which I will rejoice

Gamblers cards all along
Up the sleeve hides the trick

A ventriloquist
I never even heard his voice

This song goes nowhere
Its coarse chorus needs a drink

Fresh spring water from the tap
Straight from the tiled sink

American showgirls and whisky
Turning the boys to men in a blink

Danger discourages
One from exploring beyond their zone

Comfort from a prison cell
Still, will never be known as my home

i love your originality, and that is what will always set you apart from all the other poets i read. as a lot of the poets i come across are very uninteresting in their poems, yet your poems are anything but.
