Childhood Friend

We sit there over dinner as
I pour my heart to you.
Our drinks are getting warmer
As I listen to you too.
Our lives are intertwined and so
We know each other well.
The years have bought us memories,
Secrets we'll never tell.
We sympathised bout boy germs,
And when boys break our hearts
We cry our understanding
Bout true love split apart.
Our laughs ring out together
As we share a private joke.
Our smiles exchange the caring
As if we'd never spoke.
The years will keep on passing by,
Wrinkles may crease our face,
My childhood friend you'll still be there
I know this is the case.
