Poetry is my world now
Words are my toys
My days are filled with shopping sprees and boys
Where has the sun gone?
Everything is now so dark
The afternoon of childhood is gone
I sit alone in teenage midnight
Not wanting the adult’s dawn to come
Yet ever racing towards it
Midnight is best for parties
Passion and excitement are hottest under the moonlight
I frolic under the stars until the sad cruel dawn comes
Then the party will end and I will have a job
Play with your toys
Have fun for now
Hold tightly to your precious boys
They will all be gone at sunrise
