I knew that some people
Like to play pretend
But I never knew you were one of them
I thought you were my friend
I thought we changed together
Maybe I was wrong
Perhaps I was the only one
And you've been the same all along
To say I know you well
Is like saying the ocean is dry
For all I did know never existed
Because all along it was a lie
But I promise you
That it's okay
Maybe this shows we never had
Much of a friendship anyway
I can't hold this against you
You were just playing pretend
Maybe I was too naive
Or I was pretending we were friends
