Someone spits on the sidewalk; another calls it art

A dog chases a skunk and gets a nasty surprise
What holds one man back, another defies

Remember your umbrella on the day it doesn't rain
She says I love you; he resolves to abstain

The moon shifts and all the crazies hit the street
Be a wallflower in a bar of the fashionably elite

Dancing to the beat of your own drum
never yielding until both legs go numb

Inhale the smoke with weak, raspy breath
enjoy its cancerous filth that leads to your death

Flee to the land of the one-winged bird
where hateful contempt is seasoned, then stirred

Listen to a song till it starts to annoy
Let resentment replace hope like an evil decoy

Catch the sun rise, and mutter you've seen better before
Paint your pity off white, give it a fresh decor

Shout at the top of your lungs when you really wanna cry
Tell the truth for a change, instead of another lie

Think of the funniest comeback a day after the joke
Once again I speak to you with the touch of a keystroke [comments] => 17 [counter] => 332 [topic] => 73 [informant] => hauntedscorp [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 71 [ratings] => 15 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

The truth and the whole truth, else it is a lie. What a diseased mind this person(s) has. I this all this must be communicable for it seems to be rampant in life. Sadly, rampant in life.

So very ironic indeed! I really liked this Scorp, the flow was great, but it was all the truth within your "demented" thoughts that really kept me going. What a wonderful mind you have ;-)

some clear ironies here...i really liked reading this, i had a chuckle at the end of each line, not so much that they were humorous, but at how well you conveyed your idea.

The moon shifts and all the crazies hit the street
I love this line. i remember BEING one of those crazies.

Catch the sun rise, and mutter you've seen better before
Paint your pity off white, give it a fresh decor
damn damn damn. what a great picture. love reading you

Shout at the top of your lungs when you really wanna cry
Tell the truth for a change, instead of another lie
I know what you mean. but telling the truth means being truthful and that usually means hurting others or being hurt.

You are great, I am falling in love with your poetry. Is that weird?
