With mirrors for walls
Comes a scream
As the shatter shakes the floors
The hell that withstood
Not one minute more
Has come to claim
In the state of war
In the name of the Lord

Grassy lawns
That line the street
That give uniform
To a neighborhood
Or societal retreat
To the stone aged
Apes
That hung by their feet
Banana
Hungry monkeys
Split open
By the hunters
And gatherers
For fur and meat

In peace the truth leaks
The ropes in knots
A ladder to the top
To the burning roof
To a blinding flame so hot
No choice
The hero jumped
His stomach pumped
Sustained head
Trauma stricken
Grief ridden
The spine
That snapped
Forever forbidding

god.. wow.. i love poetry with short lines; snappy, to the point (or sometimes not!), and especially in this case, a wonderful flow. Interesting write, and an enjoyable read. xx
