on my tired, tired piano
plucking keys and staring at the glossy
reflection of myself
would you recognize the tune?
would you stand and take my hand
and lead me through our winding maze
where we always end up
buried at the heart with walls around us
listening to the dusty music

I don't know where she is
and I don't know where she belongs

I flew a thousand and two miles
more or less
tattered bits clinging to moist skin
changed and twisted into this aggressive
version of my own delusions
I dreamt about life and blood and opening up
dreams
fantasy
one in the same
life handed me a deck of cards
out of which I built a fortress to protect myself from dice

I don't know where she is
and I don't know where she belongs

who do you think I am?
make me what I have always been inside your head
dream about me as I will always dream about you
and let the ash from this settle [comments] => 3 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Dri [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

this is awesome. most other poems on here are cliche and uniform. but this one is different. I really, really like it.

this reminds me of that song 'A Thousend Miles' but this is way more amazing.
i think this piece was really well put and expressed.

life handed me a deck of cards
out of which I built a fortress to protect myself from dice

beautiful lines. 5/5 this is impressive.

This has a unique, yet classic feel to it. I am very impressed!
Not only imagery but the feelings that go with it are so very well expressed here.
Bravo!!!
