[title] => Shoulders Tear Down
[time] => 2005-07-07 00:00:15
[hometext] => This one's about the small memories enshrined in trinkets that just make you smile
[bodytext] => Shoulders tear down With window glass streaks On that cloudy Sunday afternoon It’s amazing what you might find If you look through the right room Shoelaces and cinder blocks Antique rulers and alarm clocks The shoelaces belonged to my very first sneakers The cinder blocks used to keep me from climbing my crib Ruler used to measure my growth, from one-foot-six to six-foot one. The alarm clock that rose me my first day of school and wakes me to this day Porcelain cats, a pickup truck, horseshoes bringing us all well deserved luck Puppets, petrified rocks, ticket stubs, worn down jerseys, chipped bookends Hubcaps, game balls, weary board games, frayed blankets, and pictures of friends It’s amazing what you might find On a cloudy Sunday afternoon In this room amidst the downpour Where sidewalks meet the ceiling And where we all meet the floor [comments] => 2 [counter] => 151 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Benny14 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
