Array ( [sid] => 100249 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Capture the moment [time] => 2005-07-05 22:00:01 [hometext] => So my poem makes sence, Winter in Australia is in from June to August. Please leave me some comments so i can better my writing. Thankyou [bodytext] => I begin to walk one afternoon
To help the time pass by
With only my thoughts and a winter coat
On this cold day in July

The wind, like ice against my cheeks
The water so frozen and still
And leaves beneath my feet move light
As my body trembels with chills

The shaddows which grow on the wooden path
As black as the midnight sky
Cast a mangeled image of the unknown
Distinctfully caught in my mind

No footsteps of others that pass can be heard
But that of my slow moving own
My thoughts are of nothing of any importance
As i walk this journey alone

My thinking is pondered about how life
Has tought me so many things
To love or to hate, to hurt or to heal
To cry, to be strong or be weak

Just like the cold and bittering wind
That makes life feel so dim
A saddened feling of being alone
Burdins me from within

At that second i think of the love i've been shown
From my best and most special friend
Who's bought nothing but brightness into my life
And would stick by my side till the end

The burden of sadness or being alone
Is carried away with the wind
As the sky's reds and yellows and thought of my friend
Bring warmth to my soul deep within

I cannot feel the bite of the cold anymore
Only warmth as my spirit casts high
And as a light breeze takes up under my jacket
I feel as though i could fly

For just one second i wish to myself
I could always feel this way
That i could capture apart of this moment forever
And never let it drift away

This is a very well written piece of poetry. I know how cold it can get in July for I live in Australia. You've captured it so well. A touching and beautiful poem. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Hugs,
Dreamer

It seems that even in Australia the winter can get really cold. Your poem expresses a longing for something that is perhaps finsihed but you would like it back. Am I right.Top marks from bernard.

Wow I really like this...especially the first part

I begin to walk one afternoon
To help the time pass by
With only my thoughts and a winter coat
On this cold day in July

It just sounds so good together. Nice job and keep writing!!

Tara that write is beautiful and I’m glad I read it. I haven’t been around at all these days and I see I missed some good work from you. Things have been busy in Iraq sorry it took so long for me to say hi again. You worded this write so will and it really draws the reader in so they feel like their the one that lived it and wrote it. You have improved on your writing and if I have the time I’ll try and read your work again. Take care and I hope all in your life is going okay….Steve
