Insane

Contributed by onedysturbdchick on Sunday, November 06 2005 @ 03:56:51 AEST
Topic: Dark Poetry

I've never been this alone in my entire life,
I've never felt my throat so close to the blade of this knife.
I have no one to turn to, no one who understands,
I've got no arms to embrace me, I've got no helping hands.
All I have is this crazy place in which I dwell alone,
All I have is the sound of screams and sounds of grinding bones.
I can't go on living life this way,
My own ***** thoughts raping me day after day.
I never thought I'd see so many backs turned on me,
I never really thought this is who I would come to be.
If I could have but one friend to help me through this mess,
Maybe I could one more time feel the light's warm caress.
But I fear that will never be, I'm alone forevermore,
And I fear that holding this knife is making my arm sore.
So I will use it quickly now, no, I won't delay,
Cause once it's cut into me far enough, this insanity will go away.

Damn this is a good write and it has so
much raw emotion and truth in it and it
has a really nice flow to it as well. There
has been times in my life were taking
my life seemed so easy and like a perfect
peace and a perfect end to life’s problems.
***** can be hard man believe I know I’ve
been in Iraq for 10 months now without
my family. Take care and hang in there
and keep up the writes and release all
those emotions and pains you have
inside….Steve

...the others who commented are right...you have a nice sensitivity...a natural knowledge of how words flow into each other...you seem to have a strength that probably annoys the heck out of you...it allows you to be open...

...I'm posting the lyrics for a song today...the first verse goes:

"We're running through life jusat trying to avoid the pain,
...dodging raindrops in the middle of a fierce tropical hurricane,
...and we all, we look kinda normal cause we're all kinda goin' insane..."

...your poem was well written and certainly addresses a universal theme...

...chin up...

This poem is so powerful, it hit me fast and hard, and I like it a lot, It emits your emotions, I can tell you aren't one of those people who write poetry for popularity, you right it because it is how you feel. I betcha might like some of my poems, check em out.

Love Always,
Rene
