On your account page, this icon has 2 functions within it that changes the look of the index page when you log in. You can specify the number of "news" or poems listed on the index page (to a maximum of 127) by the first input area. The second input area is to create your own "Block" or Menu block containing your favourite links, or what you wish (remember that to have links displayed, you need to input them in HTML).

This where you can select the look and feel of the whole site for your account. Please feel free to have a play in here and look at the different themes. I will add more as I have the time to work on them.

When you sign up for an account, the system sends out an automatic email containing your log in information. If you did not recieve this email the following may have occurred.

1/ Your email program (Hotmail, aol etc) may have mistaken it for junk mail, please check in the junk mail folder, and if it is in there, please tell the program that it is not junk mail to prevent this happening if you happen to lose your password in the future.
2/ The email you input may have been incorrectly typed in, in this case, you may have to contact Mick via the Feedback Form giving him the relevant information so that he can check/change the email address on your behalf.

REMEMBER, The system needs correct contact information, or system messages (password, rejected submissions etc) will not reach you.

If you have forgotten or lost your password, do not panic (unless your email address on the site was incorrect!)
Go to the "Your Account" link in the main menu, and then follow the links to "lost password", this will take you through the process of retrieving your password information.

If you had an incorrect email address attached to your account, Not you know why it is important for it to be correct! In this event, please contact Mick via the Feedback form on the main menu for instructions and assistance.

This is a "cookie" related problem and is to do with the way your browser handles "cookies".
Here are the instructions for internet explorer 6, I will try and research the other browsers and place instructions for them here as well.

Internet Explorer 6.

Click on “Tools” then “Internet Options”

Then go to the “Privacy” tab, in here you will see towards the bottom, a section called “Web Sites” with the wording something like “override the cookie handling of single web sites”

Click on “EDIT” next to this, then where it says “Address of web site” put http://www.your-poetry.com

Then click on “Allow”

Then “Ok”

Then “Apply”

Then “Ok”

This will tell your browser to accept cookies for your poetry dot com, and should allow you to access the site without any problems.

More browsers to come! If this is a little out of what you are comfortable doing, it may be best to ask someone who may have done this, or set up programs before.
