Home is held in your heart strings
No matter how far you choose to roam
Close your eyes and slip into remembrance
Allow yourself to come back home
When your heart feels bruised or broken
When your soul feels shattered or torn
Think of family, unyielding love and acceptance
And you’ll find that you’re not alone
A fathers words of guidance and wisdom
A mothers touch, so gentle and kind
A brothers fierce protectiveness or a sisters sweet embrace
Better allies, you’ll not find
All shaped together in loving recognition
That time or distance cannot dim
When the world’s crashing down on your shoulders
Indulge yourself in this whim
Close your eyes, breathe deep, will yourself to remember
Feel the love, hear the sounds of home
Immerse yourself in the emotion
Take a walk down the path, step back home.
