Candle Light

Zebra striped by candle light
The shadows fall on our form
The warm flame approaches
With the wax trickling down
My hands grazing thoughtfully
They push the bangs from your face
The light reveals your truth
I'm mesmerized by your love
Candle light so dim
Screams at us to breathe
But my breath is stolen by yours
And we dance so peacefully
But we never really move
We never really are
We just live in the moment
As we fall asleep once more
Cold winter days
Bring harsher winter nights
Take the blanket now
Warm it with your grace
The blanket is all yours
For I'm warmed by your heart
The frost's hands can't shake me
You won't allow that to happen
You are my candle light
You are the one with the golden torch
I'll never let you go unless you must
I'll always remember tonight
The night you brought my love
The night you stole my heart
The night I'll never forget
