Death in the Night

I come to you in the dead of night
To steal away all of your might.
You are the mightiest person
Until I wrap myself around you like a turban.
You think that if you trust in yourself you can make me go away
But all you end up accomplishing is making yourself delve deeper into the fray.
The sweat is upon you, cold and chilling
As you witness my evil offspring’s killing.
It sights you and you are overcome with a sense of dread
For soon, you know, you will be dead.
The knife comes down cold and hard;
Your body forever marred.
And now, only food for the graveyard.
