Shadows of the past.
Illusions snatched just as fast.
Memories that haunt me,
In every corner . . .
My wee ones I see.
Mere visions of lies.
I'll rest my eyes.
Exhaustion leads me into a light slumber.
But only to be awoken by the echoes of a child's hunger.
Stumbling into that craze.
Reaching my destination . . .
Focusing without a single hesitation . . .
Emptiness! Telling me, . . . "That it was just my . . . imagination!"
Once known as a "cozy infants nest"
Has suddenly become . . . a painful reminder such as the rest.
Now, I see . . . that reality has truly . . . taken me at it's best.
