Amidst goodly things, it stands alone, that by virtue you obtain

Since on words from mouth, for any gain or loss in life you depend
Its important that from careless slip in speech thyself defend

Its your speech that holds spell-bound the listening ear
And make those who have not heard, desire to hear

Adapt the words you speak, to various listeners’ state
That claims no higher virtue, and no more gain surely great

Speak out your speech, which once past dispute
None can utter any speech, which makes yours refute

Among others words, charming and seize the listeners’ sense
And these words make you wise of persons of spotless excellence

If you be mighty in word, of unforgetful mind, of fearless speech
It is hard for any hostile power, which can overreach

And for listening, swiftly the whole world will even gather round
When a weighty theme, such people of mighty speech propound

Those people who cannot utter even faultless words plain
Their tongues itch with more words, people`s ears to pain

Like flowers that add no fragrance to blooming garland bound
Are people who having acquired lore to others` ears cannot expound
