Don’t want to see me cry.
Just do your best to forget,
And cover up your eyes.

You can say I’m missing the detail,
That that’s not what you mean.
But I can’t choose when sorrow prevails,
It’s become a familiar routine.

A comfortable habit of simple delight,
That fades to intolerable sorrow.
And while it hurts so much tonight,
You remind me, there’s always tomorrow.

You, the only one who’ll fret,
About my emotional shape.
You’ve just got to regret,
Not making your escape.

Not being able to retreat,
Before running out of time.
I just make you incomplete,
And cut you down in your prime.

I’ve burdened you with all of my
Stupid, emotional set-backs.
If you want, I’ll say goodbye,
Once more you can relax.

You never saw me standing there,
Bleeding my blood, so red.
I know you simply couldn’t care,
Whether I’m alive, or dead.

Ah, but no, I know that this
Simply isn’t true.
If I were gone, I would be missed,
Especially by you.

A thousand years, I’ll still hold on,
No less than that I’ll stay.
Only once those years are gone,
Can my life be taken away.
