No Longer Skin Deep

A metallic shimmer of sheer lilac nail polish
Glistens at me from the side table of my room,
Waiting for the moment I open its sealed lid
To add dazzle to my women society costume.
Dressed like the best on cosmo girl magazine
Daily television targeting women with their ads,
Size 8, C cup, cleavage pushups and low rise jeans
Our set standards - you have to be sexy to be fad.
Its no longer the days of women in long dresses
Sun hats and material that covers is no longer in,
Society has banished its morals and cherished values
Today, beauty is no longer deeper than the skin.
