These Dreams

Leave the light on
So that I may see
Silhouettes ahead
Moving near to me
Pale skin in satin
A faint perfumed kiss
The moon glows down upon
These dreams in the mist
Shadows in the darkness
Shadows are my will
I search for the moment
In time that stands still
I need to see your face
Step into the light
But all I recall
Are the dreams in the night
These dreams live on behind closed eyes
Every single night, another time, another life
These dreams slumber in the frigid cold
Every moment I’m awake, the more I drift away
Is it sheathe and blade?
Could it be winter cold?
I stroll without a scratch
Though the glass can hold
Fragile in my vision
Candle to light the way
Words I can’t verbalize
Are all I want to say
These dreams live on behind closed eyes
Every single night, another time, another life
These dreams slumber in the frigid cold
Every moment I’m awake, the more I drift away
There’s a creature lurking
I can’t defy
I need to hide far from the ache
There’s a creature lurking
I can’t defy
The purest song is stillness
That I’ve ever heard
Odd how you’re floating
In dreams, above the ground
In a fairy tale of love
Enchantment is a kiss
The form of a prince is naught
But dreams in the mist
These dreams live on behind closed eyes
Every single night, another time, another life
These dreams slumber in the frigid cold
Every moment I’m awake, the more I drift away
These dreams live on behind closed eyes
Every single night, another time, another life
These dreams slumber in the frigid cold
Every moment I’m awake, the more I drift away
