I remember it like it was yesterday
Your comment brought a smile to my face
I could not resist your boyish charm
I was hooked from the very start

You were there for me when I needed you
Never laughed or judged
You listened to my complaints and cries
You are better than any shrink could be

Somehow you always knew when I was down
Could cheer me up with your friendship
Made me feel special
Only wish we could of met just once

You always knew what needed to be said
Though you could never know the thoughts in my head
My feelings for you grew fast and strong
It was only a matter of time before this had to end

I tried to be a good friend in return
Though rarely knew the words to say
And than this feeling crept up over me
An ugly thing called jealosy

I don’t know how you find the energy
You have so many friends in your life
So many to help and understand
I was only one of many

Now I see I take up too much of your time
Others need you more than me
My problems will never go away
There is nothing you can say or do to help me

One day I will succeed in suicide
When that time comes I will remember you
As tears run down my cheeks
Know you did not fail, but set me free

Please don’t take this wrong
Your friendship meant the world to me
But you see, I have come to depend too much on you
I must learn to stand on my own two feet
