The Dinner Party

The dinner party was in full swing, conversation flowing
Everyone was sitting around, none of them knowing
What was going to happen, for them what was in store
Forgetting about the pact, made all those years before
The room went so quiet, as their host came through the door
A pin you could hear drop, onto the floor
One by one, their memories recalling
As they looked at the figure, grotesquely appalling
Good evening he said, to his guests, filled with fright
Don't you remember, tonight is the night
You promised me life, by giving me yours
Soon it will be, I poisoned, the main course
They just stared in horror, disbelieving their ears
But one by one they dropped, ending their fears
When the last one slumped, he looked with a grin
For now his feast for life, would begin
He carved them up, like a sunday roast
Put them in the oven and ate them with toast
Drank their blood, like a glass of red wine
Rejuvinating himself, he felt so divine
Now he will search, for friends all anew
Create a new pact, is what he must do
To gain eternal life, that is his aim
And everyone's just, a pawn in his game
