Star
I hope you like my words,
I think I’ve burnt my lungs,
Trying to compose,
Something that can’t be sung,
But please don’t lose attention,
I promise simple rhythm,
And thunder from the heavens,
Connecting lost liaisons,
Rebuilding bridges,
I outstretch my arms to the sun,
Feel at one with the one,
Click back with pen quick,
I’ll show you how the west was won,
Piercing people with communication,
Cocking back ancient texts like a loaded gun,
My modern Lockean discourse is number one,
Uniting all colors,
Proving there is a mystical faith,
Endowed from our forefathers,
And the powers that hold it in prudence, stole it off my computer,
But one day my impact will be felt by scholars, even if I die in my own mire,
My own squalor, I shall be rectified by the paper, I shall speak no farther,
But know Brian Gallagher will be a star.
