I Am No Summer

I am no sweet summer, no,
I am the frosty winters chill,
I will bring you no comfort,
Never assist your wild thrill.
I am no twist of honey,
No candy in a trick of the light,
I am the twist of lemon,
The strange knocking downstairs
In the Night.
I am not a girl with a ribbon,
I'm sick of your bows in my hair,
And if I had a choice I would take you
To someone who really did care.
I throw stones at glass houses,
I play on the wishing well wall,
And I fly my kites over hell now,
Secretly hoping I'll fall.
