Contributed By: ethrill
I can't sleep nary a wink
Yet these eyes refuse to open
Another day wandering without purpose
24 more hours obsessing about you
Yet you don't have the slightest clue
Of how I truly feel.
Have the audacity to
Conduct yourself graciously
I resent your ability to
Rest comfortably at night
My sight is dim
Your view of clarity
By the time you return
A desperate phone call
I'll be the oldest father alive
Able to survive those hallowed
Wars with despair
Enveloped with one regret
I failed to turn your head
Not from disgust
But from insatiable wonder.
