Santa is Coming

Christmas is coming, the roof has been fixed,
The roof has been flattened, the nog has been mixed,
The snow has been falling, the scene has been set,
The old gentleman is coming by reindeer, you bet.
This year is different, for reasons within,
I'll welcome old Santa with eggnog and gin,
Years in the past when I gave him a scare,
Blocking the chimney with bird's nests and hair.
This year my life has been wonderfully bright,
I feel that the stars shine for me every night,
I feel that the moon shines down from above
On me and my dear with a silvery love.
My kids are bright as the silvery moon,
College and Mensa cannot be too soon,
All and all if you add it all up,
I'm like a delirious tail-waving pup.
Santa my man, please watch the fan,
Don't get entangled and land on your can,
Drop off your goodies and return to your flight,
Holiday greetings and have a good night.
