Wrong Room

I walk into a room, where I have been so many times
I came with hope to see, friends I thought were mine
Yet they look at me as though I am a stranger in their space
Pass me over and do not notice tears upon my face
Before I had been held, and too I held them tight
Kept them ever present,in my thoughts both day and night
I look about the silence, that fills this shadowed room
And shed another tear, for the memories that loom
With my suitcase in my hand, and a sorrowed heart I turn
Guess I'll take the hint and from this lesson I will learn
That no matter who I think I know,or who proposes to know me
Rain can come in many forms, and tonight it falls on me
