It’s nothing really complicated
Sorry these things are a bit belated
But I grew up never learning how to trust

So I sat back and waited
Till you finally became frustrated
You need to know? Tell me why you must

And I feel a little vulnerable
But then again, I always will
And I’m trying to confide in you
But I haven’t gotten there still
And please don’t be upset with me
And say that I don’t even try
Because I really honestly do
It’s just hard and I’m not sure why

And now there’s nothing I can hide
People would know if I ever denied
There’s no more use in lying

But there is no one who I could confide
No single person on my side
And getting someone, there’s no use in trying

And I feel a little vulnerable
But then again, I always will
And I’m trying to confide in you
But I haven’t gotten there still
And please don’t be upset with me
And say that I don’t even try
Because I really honestly do
It’s just hard and I’m not sure why

I say stuff I don’t really mean
I’m not that person; that’s easily seen
Yet for some reason, people think that’s me

But aren’t I just like every other teen?
Lost in a place, that’s called in-between
And that’s probably how I always will be

And I feel a little vulnerable
But then again, I always will
And I’m trying to confide in you
But I haven’t gotten there still
And please don’t be upset with me
And say that I don’t even try
Because I really honestly do
It’s just hard and I’m not sure why

And If I find a way to rely on you
I’ll tell you as soon as I know
Because if I tell you I trust
I know for sure you will never go
