Waking up in the morning; drained from the pain I felt the night before,
I struggle to get up; my eyes won’t open for tears have made them sore.
I feel lighter inside after feeling so intensely heavy in pain,
But the hurt returns so quickly and the nightmare begins again.
I cannot consume food for the pain has consumed me,
Love filled me with sadness; how can this be?
I thought love was a happy emotion making you frivolous and content,
a time of happiness of times shared: a beautiful commitment.
Love is so strong and intense; you tend to misunderstand,
a soft warm touch, a loving kiss, someone holding your hand.
We try to be together always, loving every hour,
but life’s changes seem to arrive and turn a lot of things sour.
I hope you understand; I wish I could be with you constantly;
I don’t want things between us to turn out unpleasantly.
I can’t even contemplate what life would be without you;
I don’t think I could survive this life without a love so true.
Even when you’re not around you’re all that I can see,
You’re my soul mate and my lover; please don’t go away from me.
