Tainted Soul

Like a newly bloomed flower in spring,
With each petal as pure and beauteous,
Oblivious of the predatory hands…
That reached out for her,
And swathed her innocence…
In a deceiving lace,
Leaving her soul tainted evermore…
………………………………………
Afraid of falling in love…
Scared of getting hurt,
But when he left her…
Alone in this bleak world,
She discovered in the sorrowful sea of tears…
The innocent foolishness of hers,
Love can never be imprisoned or…
Contrived,
It just happens,
You never come to know…
How…when…
But it just happens,
So it did happen…
……………………………………..
She smothered her emotions…
Became indifferent,
No more woe left to feel,
Just numbness…
No more tears left to wail,
Just emptiness…
Just she - an autumn leaf,
A stranger to herself.
