The Only One, That Was Not For Me

Elusive trails of emotional angst.
Ever-present screams echo within.
Reminders of yesteryear,
Are evoked ever so subtly.
Starry eyes, wide open,
But soul tight shut.

Love like a storm.
Relentless, tragic, yet nourishing.
Comfort like a home full of welcome arms.
Don’t ever forget these moments.
For, they are endangered,
That of few true realistic pleasures.

The bitter-sweet feeling of a long embrace
That ends the fight.
Preceded by the uncontrollable smile, despite
The tears eroding the cosmetics down the face.

It is these raw emotions that are life, and love.
The feelings that have abandoned me.
In the wake of debris……
Debris from shattered love, broken boundaries, forfeited trust.

Melancholy mood,
“Catch 22”
The maddening desire to want you,
Yet to also forget you.

This chaos is now my life
In one hand, love.
The other, strife.

It’s so strange,
Should have been my wife.
But you have for sure exited my life.

This I will deal with
In one way or the other.
What could have been our kids,
And the perfect mother.

You say I will move on,
To find better days,
To feel true happiness…….

But I will surpass a million days
Before I forget your face,
Your smile,
Your ways,
Those boring days,
Spent just with each other,
How it was damn near impossible
To separate one another.

Yet this is life.
And it must go on.
The quest begins,
For the perfect one.

But just as that was said,
The quest WILL begin.
But not forget to mention,
That it will NEVER end

For my soul only knows
You were my only
“One”
My love
My eternal best friend

So let’s just let time pass.
Days will erase me from your brain
But I will take to my grave
Your love….
My love…..
And my eternal pain.
