So many tears, but none to see,
families and their secrecy:
bruises hidden under clothes,
the greatest fear, that someone knows.

Silence sits around the pain,
a bell jar of loss and shame:
the whispers and furtive stares,
the greatest hurt, that no one cares.

Bullies grown from playground dirt
relish in the common hurt:
take the pain to other realms,
to families and company helms.

Victims, too find their place,
vulnerable in that space:
wondering what it is they’ve done
to suffer, each and every one.

Between the fears and crippling doubt,
the desperate search for a way out:
nightly weaving in their prayers,
the greatest hope, that //someone// cares.
