on a deep purple parkway
blue cheers out of focus
was playing on the radio
thats when I saw her
she asked if she could ride
and together
into the night we rode

shes a road runner
a modern day rebel rebel
no thought can hold her
there is no way for anyone to reach her level

looking mighty fine
I am so glad we connect
EZ ryding
through crosstown traffic
into a beautiful sunset

I might like her better
if we slept together
but this equal thing we got going on
is so damn clever

I just wanna be her dog
nothing more
nothing less
wag my tail
as she touches with a sweet caress

she is a sweet hitchhiker
I am so happy I met her
she came to me from my dreams
and I knew
I could not keep her

Knowing she could not stay
I watched sadly as she left with a wave
I held back the tears
sighed
and drove away.
