[title] => A Life Oblique

[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => I have been a puff of smoke
just drifting
try to speak but I just choke
sand sifting
do you know what it’s like to live under the clearest, bluest sky you’ve ever seen
while the darkest storm cloud roils over your head
day after day after day, after
all you’ve done and all you’ve tried and all the reminders being shoved right in your face
while everyone just tells you it’ll be fine
time after time after time
so I am a distant shore
hard to reach
out here bracing myself for
a life oblique
I know what it’s like to know you gave up on the only chance you might ever have
while keeping your memories buried so deep
year after year after year, because
you’ll never let a perfect moment in time get touched by a single speck of dust
so you keep that box up on a shelf so high
and you never take it down
there are words for emptiness
but they just
can’t convey the heaviness
when you’re crushed
so you carry it around
silently
close the door on breaking down
violently
