[hometext] => Get in line, pal
[bodytext] => If you want it, stand in line;
We’re a nation wasting time:
For our paychecks; at our banks;
In the ER, no one ranks!
Wait for coffee, wait to dine;
Stand here in the stand-here line;
Take a ticket! Round the lot;
Circling for a parking spot.
Line forms here to pay for gas;
Convenience store - who calls its that?
Need some money? Count to ten;
Park it at the ATM!
“Waiting rooms” anticipate
We/'/ll wait because the doctor’s late.
And clerks have disappeared from stores
Unless, of course, you wait some more!
Corporate malls are wondering why,
Their business has begun to die;
They blame it on the internet!
That’s partly true I’m sure, and yet...
The CDC has set us straight;
They say we’re grossly over-wait!
Assured our brains have turned to brine;
From breathing fumes in drive thru lines.
Why drive and park and carry sacks;
With swollen feet and aching backs?
Then hunt for hours and to our shock;
Find they just ran out of stock!
So thank you but I’ll shop on line;
In my pajamas, while I dine;
On pizza brought without delay;
On dishes I can throw away.
